Similar to “October,” the painting “June” is nothing less than an intricately woven poem. Each brushstroke carries purpose, a rhythm, and beautiful visual language. To me, the month of June is saturated with a warm, beautiful sun that drenches the earth and cleans our souls. June is made of distinct scents and images that take me back to the thrill of summer vacation, like warm asphalt covered in sidewalk chalk, the first glimpse of lightening bugs, windows opening to a navy sky, and cigarette smoke drifting through the air at our church carnival. “June” encapsulates these memories. Each time I look at “June” I am taken back to some of the best memories of my childhood.
An intricate and abstract oil painting, June measures 30″ x 40″.
