Sing No. II

“Sing No. II” is the second piece in a series of two. As a mixed media piece, “Sing No. II” embodies the narrative qualities of the materials that create it. In this case, the mixed media material in “Sing No. II” is gold paper, that had been originally utilized for a massive party. This party origin of the paper lends the themes of chaos, crowds, confusion, happiness, and celebration. I used the small pieces of gold paper to construct the highly textured and thickly layered surface, before covering the piece with oil paint.
